5 tricks that reduce your allergies at home
1. Clear - so no pollen collects
Stacks of books, ornaments and the like attract dust and pollen items. By cleaning up a little at home - especially before the pollen season, you reduce the places where pollen and dust can collect and it becomes easier to wipe surfaces if they are not full of things. Facilitates both cleaning and allergy!
2. Exhale with tailor-made air indoors
If you feel that you have poor indoor air during the pollen season and suffer from allergies, ventilation is not an option because you will then get what you are allergic to. Pollen, dust and pollution create allergic problems, but with the Electrolux air purifier Pure A9 the air is effectively cleansed - and tailored.
You can also customize Pure A9 through custom-made filters that filter extra well against pollen or harmful gases, for example. All filters have a smart tag that detects when it is time to change filters or if you choose to change from standard filter to pollen filter for a season, then the smart tag recognizes the remaining life when you switch back to your standard filter again. Electrolux Pure A9 is also recommended by the Nordic Asthma and Allergy Association - and recently won the prestigious Red Dot Award, an international design award honoring products of exceptionally high design quality.
3. Choose the right plants
Plants have many positive effects on our indoor air - they add oxygen and balance the humidity. But if you suffer from asthma or have a pollen allergy, strong scents at home can aggravate your feeling. The Asthma and Allergy Association has put together a list of all plants that will work well for allergy sufferers and there you will find violin ficus, amaryllis and monstera. But the best thing is to try out which plants work - and green leaves are usually better if there are fragrances you are sensitive to, they are also easier to keep clean from dust than other types of plants.
4. Rinse hair and change clothes when you get home
If it is pollen you are allergic to, it is important not to get allergens from the outside by putting yourself on the couch with clothes that you carried outdoors. Change when you come from outside and rinse your hair so you don't have to get pollen on textiles at home. Also, remember to wash the clothes you use a little more often than you usually do to avoid having pollen spread in the closet.
5. Be extra careful in the bedroom
Changing sheets and washing fabrics is important as they easily attract dust and pollen items. During the pollen season, it may therefore be good to change the sheets a little more often. Also, remember not to breathe in the bedroom before going to bed and use an air purifier instead to get comfortable air when you sleep. Sound Sensitive? Electrolux Pure A9 is approved by the Nordic Asthma and Allergy Association and works so quietly that you barely notice it, the lowest sound level is 17 decibels - which is lower than normal conversation level. One tip is to set the air purifier a few hours before going to bed so that you go to sleep in clean and healthy air.
